There is no reason to mince words. Heroes is no ordinary convention for us, Shelton Drum’s show in Charlotte is one of the most wonderful conventions in the country. But for most artists in the south east, this show is special. It’s a theme among artists in the SouthEast, from pros to aspiring amateurs, Heroes is quite simply, our show. To be a part of it every year is an honor and a pleasure.
The whole crew will be heading out in force this year, Dexter, Jason, Tom, Tariq, Casey, Kevin, Bernard, and our newest member, Stephanie, but we will also be having a bit of a reunion with our great friend and former studiomate, John Tyler Christopher. It’s going to be epic, we’ll bring our smiles, come say hi.

My apologies folks, I’m last minute on this, BUT Dexter will be at the C2E2 THIS WEEKEND! I don’t enjoy writing the same old noise for these con updates, but they are nonethless true! He’ll have swag, original art in tow, prints, and his perfect smiling self! Get your Ultimate Thor collection signed and tell’em Casey sent ya!
UPDATE:
John Tyler Christopher will also be attending the show!

Boston Comic Con is coming back big time in 2011! We’re moving to a larger, central location, with more artists and dealers than ever! Join us at the Hynes Convention Center on Saturday and Sunday April 30 and May 1, 2011.
And Studio Revolver’s own Dexter Vines is going to be there! So come on by, say hi, and tell him Casey sent ya.

I’m really happy to say we’re making the trip back to Seattle for Jim Demonakos’ AMAZING Emerald City ComicCon show! Seating is gonna be a little all over the place, but you track down Jason at the 12 Gauge Booth, John Tyler Christopher at M-17, and Tom at M-15! I’ll be heading out for good times and moral support! Best of all the show this year has been expanded to 3 DAYS!!! Should be amazing, come say hi and get some swag!

Jason and Dex are heading down to the Big Easy for WizardWorld’s first show there! Frankly, WizardWorld Atlanta was a charming show, and we’re looking forward to next year’s show! BUT in the meantime they are rolling out to New Orleans and bringing Jay and Dex with them! Full details on the show can be found at the Wizard World website. Here’s the quick skinny though:
WHERE:
New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center
900 Convention Center Blvd.
New Orleans, LA 70130
WHEN:
Saturday, January 29, 2011 – 10am – 7pm
Sunday, January 30, 2011 – 10am – 5pm

Comic Shops around the country are celebrating this Wednesday’s release of the Buffy Season 8 finale, Buffy #40! Here in Atlanta, Georges will be on hand to celebrate at Oxford Comics. Dark Horse has been sending materials to celebrate for participating stores across the country, for more details click here!

UPDATED: Tariq Hassan will be attending Wizard World Atlanta!
But the Con season was over you say, we thought so too! But no, Wizard World is swooping in to Atlanta this December 4th and 5th and Studio Revolver is going to represent the ATL! Studio Members: Georges Jeanty, Tom Feister, Kevin Stokes, Casey Edwards, and Shay Shepard will be on site to represent!
I’m gonna level with everyone and speak from the heart, this show has come out of nowhere and promotion has not been ideal. BUT, there is such a strong artist community in Atlanta and even the nearby south that a lot of folks are making this show happen cause we’d like an Atlanta Comic Show! There is a fun line up of Celebrities coming to this show but the comic community is showing up in full force! Not to mention Wizard is bringing in some A-list guys! Listen to some of these highlights: Micheal Golden, Humberto Ramos, Ethan Van Sciver, Cully Hamner, Laura Martin, Brian Stelfreeze, Karl Story, Greg Horn, Tony Harris, JD Mettler, Nathan Massengil, Steve Scott, Arthur Suydam, and more!
I think we’re all hoping it’s enough of a success to start building a new franchise con in the South East. Regardless, I think this show will be one of those great rare intimate shows were you may get more face time with artists/celebrities than a huge show like DragonCon. It’s at the Cobb Galleria Centre with ample FREE parking structures and affordable hotels. It’s a real why not, come on out, bring the family, and by all means, tell them Casey sent you.

Next week is the New York City Comic Con in it’s new official Fall date! The NYCC has an amazing reputation and Georges, Dex, and Tom are heading up that way! (Bernard will be heading up as well, but not setting up, say hi at the booth, he’ll probably hang near Dexter!) This Con is a doozy, so get out there and show some Studio Revolver support!

Have you been suffering from what doctor’s diagnose as “FeisterWithdrawl”, do not worry, WE HAVE YOUR DOSE OF VITAMIN F, as we speak, Studio Revolver, is packaging a fresh package of FeisterALL to be shipped to Memphis Comic and Fantasy Convention the weekend of November 5th. Look into his eyes and find true bliss behind his GIJoe goodness!
By the way….you’re welcome.
