There is no reason to mince words. Heroes is no ordinary convention for us, Shelton Drum’s show in Charlotte is one of the most wonderful conventions in the country. But for most artists in the south east, this show is special. It’s a theme among artists in the SouthEast, from pros to aspiring amateurs, Heroes is quite simply, our show. To be a part of it every year is an honor and a pleasure.

The whole crew will be heading out in force this year, Dexter, Jason, Tom, Tariq, Casey, Kevin, Bernard, and our newest member, Stephanie, but we will also be having a bit of a reunion with our great friend and former studiomate, John Tyler Christopher. It’s going to be epic, we’ll bring our smiles, come say hi.

Soooo, in a true moment of just plain awesomeness. Many of us we’re at a get together this past friday while playing Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, when Jason hollers out “THAT’S MY SIGN! BOOKIES PEST CONTROL! THAT’S MY SIGN!” Jason went on to elaborate that a sign he had put in one of his Spider-man covers “BOOKIE’S PEST CONTROL” was actually a small nod to an old girlfriend’s son’s nickname. Sure enough, friend of the studio, Josh Greathouse pulled it up for comparison and it’s pretty cool.

Jay’s Spider-man covers are pretty iconic and I’m sure that someone pulled his sign from the cover as an iconic NewYork/Marvel Universe sign. Either way, it was an awesome moment, as a big Capcom fan, as a bigger Jason Pearson fan, it felt like an honor.

ComicBookResources has reported that Dynamite is making a new Terminator/RoboCop series, but one omitted tidbit is that the preview cover supplied is from our very own Tom Feister! IN FACT Tom will be doing covers for the series! I can assure you that he is hard at work on the issue 2 cover, which tragically he cannot share yet. BUT in the meantime enjoy the first cover and take the time to read the series’ concept at ComicBookResources, it’s pretty sweet.

My apologies folks, I’m last minute on this, BUT Dexter will be at the C2E2 THIS WEEKEND! I don’t enjoy writing the same old noise for these con updates, but they are nonethless true! He’ll have swag, original art in tow, prints, and his perfect smiling self! Get your Ultimate Thor collection signed and tell’em Casey sent ya!

Why hello dere folks! Well, Studio Revolver’s gone through some lineup changes and I wanted to give a quick shout out. Sadly some of our great cohorts, John Tyler Christopher and Georges Jeanty, have moved on! John Tyler Christopher moved out west for his family and Georges is looking to strike it rich the California way! We know that John is continuing to do some amazing work for Marvel and Top Cow, with even some sequentials on the horizon! Georges is hard at work on Buffy Season 9 and should have a Teen Titans issue coming out soon! We all wish them the best and look forward to catching up with them during the convention season. Boston Comic Con is coming back big time in 2011! We’re moving to a larger, central location, with more artists and dealers than ever! Join us at the Hynes Convention Center on Saturday and Sunday April 30 and May 1, 2011.

And Studio Revolver’s own Dexter Vines is going to be there! So come on by, say hi, and tell him Casey sent ya.

I’m really happy to say we’re making the trip back to Seattle for Jim Demonakos’ AMAZING Emerald City ComicCon show! Seating is gonna be a little all over the place, but you track down Jason at the 12 Gauge Booth, John Tyler Christopher at M-17, and Tom at M-15!  I’ll be heading out for good times and moral support! Best of all the show this year has been expanded to 3 DAYS!!! Should be amazing, come say hi and get some swag!

Awhile back Tom gave an interview to WhereMonstersDwell a great blog/podcast site which if you haven’t heard of has been doing some great interviews as well as pimping Jimmy Palmiotti’s great podcast, Listen to Jimmy. I won’t try to sum up Tom’s appearence when they did it so well themselves!

This week on WMD we welcome illustrator and G.I. Joe cover artist Tom Feister to the Cave of Dwelling©. Tom has worked in the varied and related fields of comic book illustration, animation, merchandising, character design, and toy design. Some of Tom’s clients have included Microsoft, IDW Publishing, Lucasfilm, The Upper Deck Company, DC Direct, Cartoon Network, Marvel Comics, Devil’s Due Publishing, Dark Horse Comics, DC Comics, Turner Studios, Primal Screen, WildStorm Publishing, and Top Cow Productions, among others.
